What Happened to SMS-Activate
SMS-Activate login is no longer available. SMS-Activate officially announced its closure and the website is no longer accessible. If any site claiming to be SMS-Activate still allows login, it's a scam. Never enter personal data or send money to such fraudulent websites.
Good news for former SMS-Activate users: before closing, SMS-Activate recommended HeroSMS as the alternative service. HeroSMS acquired everything from SMS-Activate:
- Complete infrastructure covering 180+ countries
- All supplier partnerships providing virtual numbers
- Support for 700+ platforms (WhatsApp, Google, Telegram, etc.)
- SMS-Activate API technology and compatibility
- The same 500,000+ numbers refreshed daily
Before closing in 2025, SMS-Activate served millions as one of the most trusted virtual number platforms. HeroSMS is an independent service that purchased SMS-Activate's complete technical foundation — the infrastructure, supplier networks, and systems that made it work. Different company, same proven technology with technical upgrades.
Why HeroSMS Is Your SMS-Activate Replacement
When the service shut down, it specifically recommended HeroSMS among all alternatives.. This wasn't random — the new platform purchased the technical infrastructure to continue serving the virtual number market.
Balance transfer option: The closing service enabled users to transfer remaining balances to the new platform during the transition period, demonstrating the connection between services.
The technical foundation remains identical while operating as an independent, newer platform with enhanced systems.
